    Blood Order Document

    Hi All:

I came across in the Archives what looks to me to be the membership card for receiving the Blood Order. Alois Jegg is on the list of the initial recipients. Detlev Niemann catalogues the linen ID for the second issue. Any thoughts?

    Regards,

        Hello,

this is the document for the first form blood order (990, Fuess). Great one!!!! The red linen one is for the second version blood order (800).

Is it just in pictures in the archives ore is it the original one you found there?

The recipient was in the ages of 81 when he recieved the blood order. Incredible, isn´t it?

        Kind Regards

          Max:

This is from the microfilm in the National Archives II as part of the Berlin Document Center records. The original must be in your neighborhood.

Maybe-quite a few of these items have evaporated over the past 40 years and ended up on the open market. In the 1950s items evaporated that miht incriminate someone. the GDR spy networks also pilfered a few for everage and those have not been returned yet.

It's interesting that the honor award for 8./9. Nov. 1923 is not yet refered to as the Blood Order on this early award document. When was the name "Blood Order" first used or was the name for the award always interchangeable?
