    1938 Sudetenland NSDAP Pin

Does anyone know anything about this 1939 Sudetenland NSDAP pin? Is it original? Uncommon?? A member pin or special award???

    Tom

Very little is known about this badge Tom. Some collectors feel that they are fantasy pieces, some feel that they are genuine, personally I like them.

Littlejohn makes a small reference to them in one of his "Foriegn Legions" books but only to cite that they could have been a commemorative badge rather than a party or organisational badge.

        Cheers
        Don

Thanks, Don. From the construction, I have to beliveve it is original. And so does DN, as he provided a COA with it when he sold it.

Interesting badge, to say the least. I like your thoughts on it being a commemorative badge for maybe loyal Sudeten Nazis after the annexation.

Yes, I think it's because so little is known about them that people shy away from them. Also it's unusual for a badge to have Ges. Geschützt rather than just Ges.Gesch which can worry people.

As I said, I like 'em & I'm glad that you do too

            Cheers
            Don

                Hi,

I can confirm that this badge is original period piece. I have 4 of them in my collection ( the last one is only the center piece ). All of them I personaly found in 3 different places here in Sudeten by the ground found. As you can see they are in different conditions. They were always found together with other 3rd Reich pins.

                  Wow

                  Great Find!

I've only seen one for sale before which fetched $800

                    Pavel,
It is good to hear from you after so long. It looks like you are still finding treasures with that metal detector and I would be interested in some of your latest finds. E-mail me when you get a chance.
                    Regards,
                    Lyn

don't really collect medals/badges/pins anymore.. But I do still have a small riker with a few of my favorites. Always wanted one of these.

Sometimes you can find one at the bigger shows here in the US,,MAX / SOS..

This past MAX a dealer had a porcelain plate with that exact pin painted in / on the edge of the plate and a simple laurel leaf design around the plates edge. Looked great but at $500. I just didn't have it...

I can confirm that they existed. But I also have one with a long needle, so 2 types. Once, I read that they were given to party members which helped in annexing the Sudeten.
