Actually, the badge is fine. It looks like a nice original Deschler that has had the pin replaced with a period Fuess pinplate. The pinplate is not one of the recent Fuess fakes. I have seen these types of repairs before as the pins fell off regularly, and occasionally the wrong manufacturer's pin was used, depending on where it was sent for repair.

No explenation for this one. It looks like the partynunmber is roto-engraved? A Fuess pinplate used for repearing a Deschler?

The number looks impressed to me - classic number style. Roto numbers are thinner.

            Hi Guys,
Don't get me wrong I think it's a great little badge.
I was going to buy it but the mis match of parts would really bug me.
I think Stephens explanation is perfectly fair but the guy wasn't thinking when he put a fuess pin on a deschler badge.
He should have thought what will collectors make of this in 60 odd years time.
Then again some collectors might like it because of that.
            Regards
            Steve

There seems to be a bit of interest where this badge is, so heres the web site.

                  Hello,

I agree with Stephen on the pin plate but are the numbers stamped? The numbers look quite thin like the roto engraved ones I have seen and the ones in my possession. I like the badge just because it is different. It is a very nice badge.
