    New tinnies in collection

    Hello,

I picked these tinnies at a local gunshow today. I would like to know what the one bronze tinnie, which has the "schimmende braune Messe am Rhein" represents. It is in pic # 1.

The "schwimmende braune Messe am Rhein" was a swimming (trade) fair on

                the river Rhein.

About 1933 German cities started with "brown fairs" (brown was the leading

colour of the Nazis Parety). The swimming fair on the river Rhein was a fair

mostly on boats where the local trade and indutry showed their products.

I regret but I could not identify which city issued your pin.

The tinnie wine pitcher 1938 was given on occasion of a rambling rally in

Gruenstadt, a town in the Palatine area.

The tinnie "Deutscher Tag" (German Day) was given in Oct 1931 in the

                          Austrian town Schwanenstadt (Bezirk Oberoesterreich).

Even when the annexation of Austria started 12 March 1938 in some areas

and towns of Austria they startet with a feast called "German Day" to show

                          their attachment with Germany.
