Mothers Cross in wear - colour photo

    Hi

I have just received a book of colour photographs from the Third reich and there is a nice one of the a mothers cross, with the mother attached to it.

I have seen this lady before. Indeed, she is the only lady I have seen wearing one.

Does anyone have any more information about this woman?

As you can see, it is an official event and she has been wheeled out to help.

In addition, does any other member have photographs of the mothers cross being worn?

Both pictures are great! Thanks for showing them.
I wonder how great the difference is between existing pictures and existing mother crosses(99,999999% ?)

Photos of holders of the Mothers Cross do seem to be thin on the ground?

I have noticed most seem to show ladies of the older age bracket too. More Grandmothers than Mothers?

I always liked the Mothers Cross. It was a well respected award, with the holders being required to be saluted by members of the HJ on the street if seen wearing the cross.

              Cheers, Ade.

that is true, I have had a couple of these types of photos in the past but they always all showed grandmothers and I have never seen a pic with someone younger wearing one ...

                  Here you go, Torsten.

There are many pictures of younger women (well, this one is semi-young!) wearing this cross, but they seldom appear on the forums for some reason.

                  Daddy looks totally shagged out.

                    Nice photo, Robin!
...8 children?! Must be a gold one for sure.

I am not sure of the regulations, but clearly you could apply for a mothers cross if you had children way, way before the inception of the award. I wonder how far back the qualification date was.

No disrepect intended to any of the old ladies who are pictured in these photographs

                        Hi

I have just read the criteria for receiving the award and it is as follows:

                        1) The parents and children are of German blood
                        2) The mother is worthy
                        3) The children are born alive

So any mother could apply, regardless of age, as long as she fulfilled the above criteria.

The process is not simply rubber stamped and a few hurdles have to be overcome before it is awarded. As such, I am surprised there are not more photographs of the cross in wear, as they would be proud to have received it.

                        Raymond

I don't think any of them will be reading the posts, Raymond!
