    Tinnie Production

    Hello,

I have a question pertaining to the production of the early tinnies. Lets begin with say a 1930 tinnie for an event or to commerate an event, when was the tinnie made? Was it before the rally or meeting or was it after the event? Sometimes the rally or event came under protest so it had to be moved or cancelled so was it still possible to get the tinnie during the rally or after? I would say that when the Nuremburg 1933 came around, Hitler was in power and could control production and the exact time and location but with the early tinnies, I just wondered how and when the tinnies were made and how or when the tinnies were distributed? All comments or documentation pertaining to the above questions would be greatly appreciated.

    tinnies

    John,
Good question. I was always under the impression that tinnies were made before hand and sold at all events

The solution, in general cases, is easy if you know the target for making this kind of items: all the tinnies (and mainly the early ones) were made basically to get money for the cost of organisation of the events (meetings, politic campaigns, speechs, partys...). So, they had to make the items before the event, and were sold in the main part during the days when the acts were celebrated. Probably there were collectors in those years, and they keep their tinnies (fortunately for us), but this items were made just for several days of use, and this is the reason for which is almost imposible to get pictures of people wearing a tinnie if not in the days of the warned event.
