    Unknown Tinnie-Help Please

I cannot seem to find any information out there on this tinnie.

"Greater Germany Is Our April 10 1938"

All help is appreciated. A google search really didn't give me anything to compare it to as I couldn't find another out there.

**I was able to find only 1 out there for comparison. Still, if anyone can address the commonality of it i'd appreciate it.**

    Thank you in advance fellas.

This is a propaganda tinnie like the saar and sudetenland tinnies announcing the next target - the Danzig corridor.

It is scarce - maybe even rare.

Well, It´s not announcing the next target but the last target: the Anschluss of Austria and Germany. The Wehrmacht was in Austria before, but the date for the referendum to decide the official reunion was 10th April 1938.
The final score? 99% of austrian and 98% of german voted yes.

You may wish to show us the reverse of this tinnie as this design is being heavily faked now. They can be bought from a dealer in Poland for 6 Euro each

        Cheers
        Don

Here Is One I Bought In Austria To Compare. The Originals Of This Badge Are Usually In Silver That Has Oxidised Such As My Example Below.

Here's the back. It came to me about 8 years ago from the estate of a vet along with a few other minimal trinkets, armband, etc.

If it is being heavily faked, one would guess that the tinnie is of some sort of value? Please clue me in.

              Thanks gentelmen,
              Tom

                Scarce To Find, Not Rare

Hello Tom your Badge now I have seen the reverse is in my opinion 100% original. The fakes originate from Poland and it is the "dull" reverse of the die stamp on the copies that is the dead give away. On a scale of 1 to 10 on a rarity level this Tinnie is around a 5 and although it is not rare it is a difficult Tinnie to obtain. The Polish website selling the fakes price them at 6 euro. They are starting to reproduce most Tinnies now (even the common ones).

Martin and all, thank you for the response and information. I'm not a tinnie collector and have a few here and there that came from different sources.

I like knowing what I have because I've made a few mistakes in the past with these. I had a rare one that I did not know was rare. I sold her on for $60 or $70 and was contacted by other members that I was way too low and could have asked and received significantly more. Naturally, I want to avoid that happening again. My knowledge is very limited in the tinnie arena and I rely on my fellow collectors to provide rarity and price info.

Thank you again and happy collecting.
