    Schwaben HJ Abzeichen

    Hello Wagner, Your Badge is a superb text Book example of a Hitler Youth Badge they were issued for the competition games of the Schwaben HJ.

      I have seen these for 1938 and 39 but not a 44!

        Thank You Martin and Paul for your replies.

        I am surprised that in 1944 the 3rd Reich would be holding any sporting event. Is there any evidence that one was even held? Could it be that the badge was made "in advance" and the event never held?

        Also any idea on rarity?

          Probably to bolster the spirit and morale of the people who by now realized things were going downhill fast, there were events held in 1944. The most notable are the Reichsberufwettkaempfe of which the most popular badges are the large type from 1938, 1939 and 1944. I suppose it would not be inconceivable that other events were held as well.

            Thanks Richard. Wow! I didn't know there was "sporting" events held in 1944 when Germany was being bombed day and night.
