    Help with glass tinnie

    Hi everyone,

    I've posted some pics of a glass (or really hard plastic) tinnie I own that came glued to a board with about 20 other TR items. Yes, that's still some glue attached to the back and the pin is long gone. I'm not a tinnie guy and have no idea as to what it is and if it is rare or common. I'd welcome your comments.

      Hi Josh,

      Not sure if this appears in the Tieste or Manions tinnie books (and I'm work and will have to look at home tonight), but this shows the "Mahnmal" monument on the side of the Feldherrnhalle in Munich. It was the monument erected to the Nazi slain during the 9 Nov 1923 putsch in Munich.

        Hello Josh, your Tinnie is one from a set of 15 from the Kriegswinterhilfswerk des Deutschen Volkes issued in 1942/1943, with yours been one of the most important ones from the set due to it's historical importance. You might try soaking it in hot water to remove the glue (but not if it is super glue) although not too hot as it may crack it (yes they are Glass not plastic) I have posted below images from the Holger Rosenberg Book (Pre tieste) illustrating all the Tinnies from the WHW set. Both Books shown feature your Tinnie. I agree with Gregs information regarding the description.

          Some examples

          Hello, again Josh & Greg I have just located these WHW Abzeichens that I have and as you can see to the top left hand side of the following picture there are exmples of others from the same WHW series.
