Chris, welcome to the world of "I have lost the plot totally" collecting Tinnies can seriously damage your health. Hitler wasn't a Yo Yo champion Chris he was a peace man All he wanted was a little piece of this and a little piece of that ! I don't mean it in a nasty way but that Badge belongs in the bin

Can we see the pin attachment and maker's mark? I suspect it might be a reproduction.

            Chris,

I'm surprised (shocked, in fact) that you would miss the fact that the font is incorrect on this tinnie. Also, I believe the German would have it saying "Jo-Jo" and not "yo yo". Finally, shouldn't it have some reference to Germany's 'Fahrstuhlmannschaft' which I think means 'Yo Yo Team'?

This just has to be Lativian (as is everything else, of course)...

            Get with the program.

In retrospect, I should keep more of an open mind. There 'were' english speakers in Hitler's inner circle which might account for the font. In fact, there was, allegedly, an American in Hitler's early entourage who, in Allen Dulles' records, was a keen yo yo expert and attempted to get a yo yo team to compete in the 1936 Berlin Olympics.

So, your tinnie may be authentic. There's just no telling how many yo yos the Commies took out of the Bunker. So, you may be okay with this afterall.

Truly, the only way you can tell for sure the difference between the originals and the reproductions is by SEM testing--I believe you can have it tested for only a few thousand dollars, which, if the piece is found to be original, would certainly be a bargain. I remember reading that in the Bunker during the last few days, Hitler had intended to give this badge to Magda Goebbels, but, due to his shaky hands and failing eyesight, he accidentally gave her his gold party badge. Eyewitness accounts reflect that when he discovered the mistake, he said "D'oh!" or something like that.

I beg to differ - Angolia referencing Kleitmann identifies this as a rare prototype award commemorating the victory of the SS-Stabswache "Horst Wessel" Yo-Yo Einsatzsturm over the Italian team by 2-1 in 1943 in Milan. Original design documents provided to the successful bidder with the name of the vet's family who loosened the string from Adolf's finger in the Bunker.

Hitler's last words were apparently: "Mein Gott, my Generals told me I had at least 100,000 yo-yos in reserve. Speer claimed he made 10 kilometers of string that would last a thousand years. They have lied to me all along..."

This is the real deal folks!!

I have been looking all over for that one

Only 2 people got this award and that was Hitler and Himmler.
They had a privat yo yo competition at the bunker in Berlin and Eva didn't want any of them to leave empty handed so she decided that both should have one.
