    Gold Party Badge Repaired

    Hi,

I was wondering how many different types of pin fixings were applied to repaired badges? Here is mine.

I have seen many combinations of pin repairs. Most were done by private jewelers at the request of badge owners due to a lot of them losing their badges due the poor factory pins.

Thank's for the reply. It would be nice to see other variations posted.

Heres mine, the pin was replaced with a normal needle type pin which was broken again and then the war was over i think...

                  Hello,

Just for my own reference purposes, how does one determine that a pin repair was done before May, 1945? I, of course, believe that these examples have period repairs. It just seems that making that distinction could be a bit difficult. So, what does one look for to know that?

                  Thanks,

                  Chris

                    Hi

                    Here is mine.

What is nice about this, is that there was the letter in his file about his badge being found in 1934 at a party rally

I can imagine him after he got it back, stood there choosing the back assembly that would prove to be bullet proof!

Well it clearly worked as it is still on today!

                    Hope you enjoy this.

                        Hi Raymond,

That's what I call an interesting little story behind such a Badge!

                        Regards, Theo

                            Thanks for your comments.

I know that GPB's with the pin repaired adversely affects the value, but it is wonderful that I know why it was replaced and it actually adds to the piece, in my own opinion.
