Frauenschaft - round badge - opinion

I've seen close up of round frauenschaft pins but not this one. This one is rare (i guess) Could someone confirm if it's OK or bad?

Nice early original - rarer than the "Osang" round NSF badge.

This is where I'm going to upset things a little. Whilst this design is accepted by the collecting community (I have one myself) what worries me is the GLH on the bottom.

The motto of the Frauenschaft was "Glaub, Hoffnung, Liebe" seen on the triangle badges as G,H with the L below, however if read from left to right could be read by someone without much knowledge of the organisation as GLH.

My concern is why would anyone involved with the organisation design a badge with the letters of their motto around the wrong way......

As a side note, the Osang badge mentioned by Stephen is a different design, not having the GHL (or GLH) letters..

        Cheers
        Don

I noticed the "Glaube, Hoffe, Liebe" with the L in the middle, but thought the rest of the badge (especially the pinplate) looked original. I'll have a look through my books and see if it appears in this order anywhere.

Dragged myself upstairs and dug out my Heering - Husken Handbook der Abzeichen (1990-91 ed.) to see how my memory is doing.

There it is - no. 9216a - with "GLH" at the bottom. Not that I believe eveything I read, but I suppose being at the bottom of a round badge, you could say the "L" is actually last.

That's the Husken catalogue I quote above (same number).

I found more pictures of simmilar pin. Not sure if it's just the picture but looks like letters are little bit different (thinner?) especially GHL on this one below

The 2 pins above are entirely different in the thickness of the lettering and the orientation of the Swaz. How many makers of this badge could there have been early on?

Glaube Liebe Hoffnung is the correct order for the list of virtues. The triangle badge abbreviation is in typical and proper order. Thus the "L" appears at the bottom of the triangle going left to right not a left-right-down.

Of course, these letters come from the Bible (Paul - 1st Corinthians 13:13): "But now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love."

Sometimes rendered as "faith, hope & charity".
