    Adolph Hitler 1943?

I bought this badge for a couple of bucks about a week ago. Can't identify it and cannot tell if its actually real or not. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    chris

Adolf is spelt with the "f" and not "ph".

Call your dog or cat Adolph Hitler and you can put your disc to some practical use.

yeah I had a really big feeling it was a fake but I'm only 19 and still learning a lot of things. Especially with things like this, I don't see how many of you can take a quick glance at something and tell its a fake in a second.

I remember seeing my first one of these 30 years ago at a flea market and wondered if Hitler used it for his car keys .

"Eva! Haf you zeen mein Verdamnten car keys? Zey ver just hier by the front door und now zey haf disappeared!"

man, I have so much to learn but just by reading this site for the past 2 days, I've already learned a bunch. Just curious if anyone has some pointers for detecting fakes. Anything at all.

Sure--I would recommend reading every thread you can find here and study the photos, then go to militaria shows and handle as much material as you can, both original and fake. That won't make you an expert, but it will help you!

As above just keep reading, looking for pics and ask questions... then when you get to the shows you will hopefully put some of it into practice and be amazed at the fakes that are being sold as original! also helps to concentrate on something you like to collect unless you want everything! iam quite clued up on some of the daggers and a fair go at say party badges but helmets or EK's

just keep looking and dont buy something without checking up on it! it will save you $$$$$$$$

I always say go to the internet sites selling fakes and study them so you'll know what bad junk is out there (even well-made junk). Invest in a few hundred dollars of books before you put a cent into actual badges.

thanks for all the advice, I will keep reading and learning. I actually created a word document devoted to these badges so far and the pictures so that I can study them and study the closures and pins and what not.

                        Thanks,
                        Chris
