the question is can i put the ones i have on estand as there seems to be no real decision one way or another .
the ones i have in post number 10,11,12,13 where bought as good from a reputable seller and as stated in the post i gave a link to earlier they did exist in the 3rd reich era,the 2 i have are also still available on quite a few well respected dealers in this forums sites

Gents The Red NSKK in posts eight and nine is a reproduction I'm afraid. The oval pin attaching plate is a dead giveaway. They also were produced in green of which I have an example. You can e-mail me for an image if you like. I beleive Don Scowen has an original Red in his collection. Perhaps he will post said badge when he has the opportunity. I would leave this one alone. These are readily available at the local flea market and you can even get one in Blue as well. Maybe if we wait long enough there will even be more colors! HA HA Robert

Robert is correct this style of pin plate is only found on post 45 badges. The quality of the finish is also a giveaway the reverse should be a rough zinc type.

Stuart, can you get a close up of the faces of Icarus on the two NSFK badges? Apparently there are originals of these badges but also very good fakes. Best I have been able to determine is that originals tend to show much greater detail in the faces of Icarus than the fakes. Based on this information I would tend to lean toward the horizontal oval one (Bodenleitstelle Berlin)being a possible reproduction and the vertical oval being possibly original. The negative comments on the one issued in 1940 would be to try to confirm if the NSFK actually had any flight competitions after the war began. The purported fakes were extremely well done and go back to the late 70's early 80's.

tried to get closer pics of the faces but my camera just isnt good enough it cant focus when its that close bon looks both have detail in the faces the 1940 probably amore that the 38 but i dunno maybe ill put them on estand anyway and them mits up to the buyers if they beleive in these badges or not.carl at regimantal depot obviously does

NSFK Badges

I'm writing from memory so please forgive me if I skip around. When I get home this evening I'll also try and put some photos up from one or two references I have.

Besides being badges to comemorate an individuals participation, there were also badges issued to the various staff/workers at an event. This type was usually flat backed and had a silver background color with blue and white print. They also contain initials that are thought to signify the job of the staff/worker. I've not been able to find out specifically what the the different initials stand for so would be very glad to hear from anyone that has some information. The participants awards were in the form of an elongated cup. The 1940 participant badge being an exception. For whatever reason that particular badge was flat backed. The actual awards were usually gold and awarded in a case. They are also usually flat backed and sometimes engraved.

They are indeed not fantasy pieces. There is a reference or two that talks about them. I think there are some good photos in one of them. I'll post tonight.

Lastly, yes, in my opinion there are some very very good reproductions on the market. When I post the photos this evening I'll try to putt together a few thoughts at least as to what I look for.

NSFK Badges

Here are some photos from NSKK NSFK by Angolia & Littlejohn. IMHO the book is a must for anyone with more than a passing interest in the NSKK and NSFK. It more than touches areas I've seen nowhere else. I have another book I could not locate. It may still be packed somewhere from the move but it is not nearly as good as this book.
