      Robert,

That's a new one to me; I don't have any tinnies with that mark. Wonder why the Walter is underlined?

I don't know this maker either. One of the members, I don't remember his name now unfortunately, wrote a lengthy article on the Militaria magazine in 2007. He sent me copies of the article, excellent. This name is not in the list of makers in this article. I think it looks like a cast piece IMO. The rough texture to the obverse is not like the usual smooth finish you see on the Seefahrts. I have heard from the author of this article in the Militaria magazine that there are fakes on the market today, and to be careful what I buy. I'm not saying for sure that it's a fake, I'm not 100% sure. I started the thread to see what others had in the way of opinions.

        Thanks,
        Robert

Guys Walter Demmer is in fact a legitimate maker and was authorized by RZM. He is maker number 121. Perhaps in the party badge database you can find some M1/121 party badges made by this firm. Hope this helps and have a nice weekend. Robert

Well, that's music to my ears. The list was obviously incomplete.

            Thank you, sir

Walter Demmer's RZM code number for Day Badges is M9/70.

Guess I should have looked in my RZM list first ...

Robert, here is at least one source of repro Seefahrt badges, so there are fakes out there.

                    Thank you Greg,

I'm very curious which maker's name is on that repro? Do you have a link to the site?
