    large Kyffhaeuser Stickpin with number

This one is nicely enamelled. Is it possible to put an approximate timeframe on this and what exactly was it issued for? I assume the number on the back is a serial number? Cheers, Torsten.

you know i was just looking at the one I have yesterday, mine is cased in it issued case and also No#ed but mine is #7440 and same under it. also my needle has it's slid hold that keeps it on the uniform, pretty neat to have it all, the case is blue cardboard with cloth hinge and blue pull out felt, the lid has the same design as the front of the medal, and the bottom of the case is maker marked with a Cross and under that "Die Ordens-Sammiung" BERLIN

I'm heading to the coast now but will post photos of mine if nobody else does when i get back.

Die Ordens Sammlung Berlin was the firm of Dt. Kurt Kleitmann. He and his wife, Anneliese Paetzold, manufactured and sold post-war produced medals and badges. Anneliese owned the name of GODET, which she purchased after WWII, and continued business, on the ground floor, right under the offices of Dr. Kleitmann's Die Orden Sammlung.

            Gregory,

I don't know. The Kyffhauser was in existance, after the war, and still may be! I cannot say the pin is post war or pre war. The wartime pin had the swastika.

I would wait for other imput as this may be a pre war pin, also. I am sure there are those, on the forums, who have studied these interesting pins.

On the headgear forum, there is a visor hat that is for the same organization, from post-WW2.

This one is quite a bit larger than normal Kyffhaeuserbund pins and I don't think that was one that was sold to just anyone .. I think that it was an award pin of some sort, but not for long membership as these have the numbers of years as part of the design .. but I still do not know what it was given for and what era it is from, however, I do think it more likely to be post war? Cheers, Torsten.
