    Maker of the Blood Order?

I know that Fuess designed the BO but does anyone know how many makers there were of them? All the books that I have read only list one maker but I have heard that others think there may have been more than one. If so, Is there any documation showing this?

I always tought that it was only Fuess and that sounds logical. Fuess was a very early partymember and the first juweller in the organisation. He was the designer of the Party badge and had a lot of influence.

Theo, Fuess did not make them only designed them.

        Erich,

Josef Fuess was not just a designer, but a maker of metallic objects.

            Hi Erich,

Fuess is not only a designer but made badges like the other guy's already said.
That he designed the Party pin can you read in "Mein Kampf" that he was the the only manufacturer in the beginning seems logical. I have tried to research that because their are still juwellers with the name Fuess active in Munich today. However the diden't anwer my polite letter. I asked the same question to Mr Robin Lumsden and he claimed that Fuess indeed made the first membership pins. But I have to admit that I never saw one. That this manufacturer produced the blood order seems also logical to me. I think it was some kind of honour to this very early party member. The reason why he was involved with the GPB has IMO the same origins.

              Theo and others,

I have a very early party pin made by Fuess in the middle twenties - - it is made from alpaca and has no enamel work at all. For all that it is extremely well made and detailed - - it is in stick pin form.

I collect all this kind of material and I certainly prize this particular item. Sadly I cannot post pictures.

I believe that there were at least 2 producers of the type 2 Blood Order, and possibly a third as well. This is based on slight pattern differences between the pieces made by the 2 or 3 firms.

I agree that it could be possible that by the 2nd model more then one manufacturer was involved. Such thing can only be searched out by the lucky guy's who have several of these awards in their collection.

I tend to agree with Erich because of the small differences mainly from the early to the the later 2nd pattern BO's. I would really like to see documation showing this though. Some things in this hobby we may never know. I think that my 24mm Fuess GPB is more attractive than the Deschler IMHO. Thanks for your input all. Best, Erich
