The things that bug me are the colour, it looks too gold rather than bronze and the size of the makers mark looks smaller than other examples I've seen on the forum.
Anyway those are my thoughts looking foward to your replies.
        Thanks
        Steve

The maker's mark looks rather crude compared to known originals.

I vote that it's not original. Seems to very crude compared to the original pictured. The MM is wrong too. This one is differant from the more common fakes we see.

                    Hi,

                    this is for both pieces.

The correct name is "HOFFST******196;TTER", and not

                    HCFFST******196;TTER

                    Regards
                    Uwe

                      Thanks Guy's,
                      Your confirming my own thoughts.
This example is similar to an unmarked version on Helmut Weitze's site.
I think he say's it is a rare variant, but then he would wouldn't he.
What a pain sending the damn thing back to Germany.
                      Thanks Again Guys
                      Regards
                      Steve

I'm with Mil on this example. The detail is weak and the hallmark is odd. The back should be flat AMD smooth. Why not wait for an example that matches known originals.

How do we even know Tom's is authentic?

THERE seems to be no authority to fall back on with these?

Today's replicas are tomorrow's authentic originals?
