Is the pin broken or replaced? The badge is upside down, it's a membership pin for the NSV (NS Volkswohlfahrt).

Chris, it is NSV but upsidedown (auf den Kopf gestellt - falsch rum). Gruss, Torsten.

Chris, it looks like the pin has been bent to then wrong position.

Look at the comparison between your badge (turned the other way) & my one.

The slight difference in the angle of the V would be a manufacturing variant.
