    Stahlhelm Member 1919

    Hi Guys;
    A good collector friend of mine picked up this badge over the weekend and asked me to post it on the forum. He would like to know if it's original and what it might be worth. the piece measures approx 34.92mm diameter. Your thoughts are greatly appreciated as always.

          That's a very nice badge. Have one myself (1931). Don't know the current value but they getting scarce.

            ok the 35 mm 1919 stahlhelm badge.
            make up and rear assembly are correct and what i would expect.

            price wise is $900

            getting very rare these days. i attach a pic of my stahlhelms not trying to steal the thread but to show the 35mm and 30mm sizes and how stunning a set of stahlhlem can be. as you can see i only need the 1918 which is my holy grail

                But not all of them are this pricey are they? It's the size and the year that put it at this price right?

                  That's right--the 1919 is the 2nd toughest one to find, after the 1918. I've seen badges with 1926 and later dates offered for $135.00-150.00.

                        the prices get lower and lower as the years get older due to more members joining. eg in 1918 only 80 badges then 2.5 million 1932. hence low dates more expensive and rarer. these have been faked but due to the badges not having the swaz on them they are not as apealing as most german badges. on that thought i disagree totally as if you get a nice set together they look awsum. over all a very good investment as prices just keep rising on the stahlhelms over recent years.
                        most badges have the mark 935 or A on the rear. but the set up is important to watch.
                        hope that helps

                        ps i am aware of 8 1918's in the usa and any leads to one to complete my collection greatly recieved

                          My, Stalhelm badge has an "A" in the center on the reverse, Does anyone know what that stands for? Is it the metal type?
