pin attached with clear resin

Hi Guys, I have got the Kyffhaeuserbund membership pin and the needle has been attached with some kind of clear resin. Would anyone know if any pins were produced like this during the period or is it, as I assume it to be, a repair job?? Cheers, Torsten.

agreed stuck back on. not that it matters much as looks a genuine set up.

If it is a repair job, then it actually looks a very good repair job... the resin is keeping the pin on the shield very securely..Cheers, Torsten.
