      Hi John,

I can only say that a few German Dealers with good reputation considering these pieces as good ones. Some collectors have their doubts, others don't know... (including myself). The problem here is that there is extremely little knowledge about the manufactures of this badge. Conclusion: According some major dealers this is a good, original HJ-Badge.

And according to the 413th Infantry of the 104th Division veteran that brought it back in his footlocker it's good!

          Hi,

Just made some home work. The "15" could be Ferdinand Hoffstätter, Bonn. Their rzm number was m1/15. I have some info from a German collector who's doing research on the manufactures of TR-medals and badges and Hoffstätter was a maker of the golden HJ-Ehrenzeichen.

          Regards, Theo

These gold HJ badges with the RZM logo and "15" on raised buttons cause disagreement (or at least suspicion) because no one else marked their RZM pieces this way.

The use of a single "15" without an M1 prefix suggests that it would date just after March, 1935, when the first license numbers were issued by the RZM. The "M1" prefix came about a month later. The the RZM logo became mandatory on Jan 16, 1935. "15" would be Ferdinand Hoffst******228;tter, Bonn.

These are quality badges, and it's nice to know they are among vet bring backs.
