I think this is a fake, judging by my blood order the finish is not correct and the spacing of the serial no. does not look correct. This is only my opinion Jon Fish is your man.
Hell, if thats a fake it's a good one.
If I was a betting man I would go real, if it was cheap to buy I would buy it, if it was expensive I would what an expert 2nd opinion.
Keen to see what the 'experts' think.

An adcanced collector told me that he heard that original second pattern dies were discovered a few years ago and near perfect examples MAY be being produced. He told me that 20yrs ago you almost never say any BO's of any type on the market but today you see more and more at all the big shows. Something to ponder.
I think it's 100% good. There were at least 2 and possibly 3 makers of the 2nd type of BO, and this looks fine to me for a 2nd type. The story about the die has been circulating for a long time, but I've never seen any. I've also, over the years, heard the same story about numerous other decorations, but some of this may be the collectors' version of the urban myth. I'd also heard that a small number of unnumbered 2nd type BOs were found perhaps 20 or 30 years ago, and were subsequently numbered before being sold. I've found no evidence for either story. In any case, this one looks fine to me from the images.

This Blutorden is a 100% correct piece.
Someone above says 'you find more and more at shows these days' Yes you see more and more fakes, but not originals. I have attended the last 2 Stuttgarts and Kassel shows in Germany and have purchased 3 Blutordens,2 of them 1st patterns. There was only 1 other at those 4 shows and that was overpriced and such stayed on the table. That statement simply is not true.
Mike, I think yours is okay, but it is the latter style ,as Erich explains there are slight variations and yours has those charactaristics, so yes they do not compare exactly but both are good IMO.
Look at that silver finish in the close up pics,100% good.
