Fake DDAC?

The pic is poor. I'll try to describe it. The enamel is very good. The back has a straight pin sticking out that a small clasp slides over, similar to those used on the current American Flag Lapel pins of today. Were there pins of this type back then?

I've never seen this style of pin/attachment on a German pre45 piece.
