I got this right from the Vet family source today. Never been in a collection. Sure it's got some damage, but I have never seen one before. Anyone come across an HJ Ring? It's adult sized (small though). Numbered "8305 VT" and "HJ"

Hi Jeff,
The ring is not numbered but has a silver mark of 830 and the VT is the makers initials. Adding an "S" to the end of the silver mark (I would assume to signify Silber) was fairly common in Germany around that period.
I would say that is the owners initials engraved inside the ring, so if it is an adult size then you may be able to track down the owner with a little luck.
Some examples below of German hallmarks of the period with the "S" after the silver mark.

I pulled it out and looked at it again today. In the photo you can additional writing off to the right and it goes aroud the ring. I can't make it out with patina and the weird angle of viewing, but it looks like "Jeiniger". Tough to see.
My thoughts are this is a HJ pin that crafted to fit on the silver ring then presented to someone named "Jeiniger". There is no seam really between the emblem and the ring so it's nice job for sure. Looked pretty sharp I am sure when it left the jeweler.Alitur vitium vivitque tegendo
