Hi all. I wanted to ask of your opinion regarding this badge. It is marked RZM M1/72 for Fritz Zimmermann,Stuttgart and the pinplate has Ges. Gesch. on it.This one differs some from an other badge of this type i have from same maker. The size is a bit shorter, the outer cornes are less rounded, moore pointier. The letters in Frauenschaft differs a bit, there are no space betwen the F and T in the end of Frauenschaft. Also the G , H and L differs, on this one they are mutch fatter, the bottom L actuly gous aout in the thin " frame", edge of the badge. The black enamelfields are bigger on this one and the swass. and letters are also smaller.

Thx for your input Theo. I agre with you , the front left one with its rather crude letters looks strange.Comparing the reverse side they looks moore or less identical accept for the Ges. Gesch. on the pin-plate. I hope there is someone with moore insight in Frauenschaft´s bagdes find this thread.Attached Files

First of let me start by saying that I don't know if this is a fake or not. However what I do know is that there are some very good fake DAF female badges on the market. These are also M1/72 marked & the mark is almost perfect to the originals. What lets them down is that occasionally an odd style pin plate is used which isn't usually seen on DAF badges, they are more than often mint or almost mint & the gilt finish on the back just doesn't quite look right. But the main give away is that the colours of the enamel on the front are too bright when compared to originals, they don't quite match the tone used on the originals.
If they are making fake M1/72 DAF's it's just as likely that they're doing these as well.
Cheers
Don

Unfortunately it doesn't show well in photos, but I will try.
First the reverse, the finish is just wrong for this type of badge, the maker mark however is close if not spot on for M1/72 DAF's. The pin plate on the badge second from left has a dog leg or ~ sort of shape, this just isn't seen on this type of badge.Attached Files

Some of the senior level Frau and DAF badges are pretty expensive - several hundreds of dollars - especially the Gau and Reich levels. Thanks to Don for the photos of the fake DAF badges - anything and everything is being faked, right down to $10 tinnies.
As for the original Frauenschaft badge that started this, my reaction is that it is good, even though it differs from the other one. There were probably hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of these ordinary member bagdes made, and M1/72 was one of the principal suppliers, so there would have been a number of dies that wore out along the way before they were retired and replaced with the "Type 3" version. I'm not worried that they don't look identical. The "GES. GESCH." on the pinplate is not seen on fakes, so I think I'd give this a thumbs up.

Excellent information, for some reason i thought the fakers would concentrate on the more expensive items.
