Opinions on this SA Kepi

A friend of mine recently picked up this kepi and asked me for my opinion.Since its not my collecting field, I decided to post it here, so the true experts could look it over. So I would welcome any opinions.

Post 1932 Kepis, at least 99% of them, are fairly standard in construction and materials. This one is not made like a standard kepi, especially the interior. Among the differences are the fabric and style of the lining, the attachment of the top of the kepi to the sides, and the seaming of the interior. There were variations, and without a hands on inspection I can't tell 100%, but judging by the photos, I would be at least 95% sure it's not anything like any original that I've seen.
