Need help with 2 Gold Party Badges

    (my first message)
    Hello all

I have 2 Gold Party Membership Badges. The back of one has #4252 stamped into it. Which, if it is real, belongs to the 4,252 member, which I don't know the name for.

I can't post an attachment, being new, but will be glad to email pictures on request.

I knew the original owner who acquired them prior to 1980. Also, neither one has any magnetic metal. Both are enamels.

      Thanks for answering.

Yes, I have been there and two days ago I did submit pictures to you and have yet to get an answer. Perhaps something has happened to my submission.

Let me know and I'll re-submit.

Your website was refered to me and with one badge most of it does appear to be authentic, say for 2 features on it. This has me curious now.

John that was extremely nice of you. Thanks a million.

Guess I better subscribe here cause I have many more things to find out about. So I'll need to post pictures.

Well, here are the pics of my medals. Now I just hold my breath on them. Actually they were collected by my nephew who died in 1980.

                    badges

It appears they're both copies. If you take a look at the originals and reproductions pictured on the Golden Party Badge webpage:
                    http://www.geocities.com/goldpartypin/index.html
you can see the difference between these and the original badges.

                      Erich,

                      Thanks for your opinion.

I checked that out before messaging here. Frankly it just confused me more. The "O" is oval in badge 1, while not in badge 2. But it's said there that an oval "O" is not proof. Then there's the 'L-' location, badge 1 seems wrong, but badge 2 seems right.

Other things; leaves going to edge on obverse, swastika meeting inner circle, numbers in line on back of badge 1, small black flecks in the white enamel, and bubble pattern in the red enamel. This all gives me a headache.

Well IF everyone says 'Amen' to them being fakes, I'll destroy them. Seems the only reasonable thing to do.

                        Golden Party Pins

Both pins are out and out fakes, both obverse and reverse are
riddled with errors. The back is particularly ugly, not even close I am afraid.

                          badges

                          Hello Gil,
I certainly wouldn't go so far as to destroy them--they're not 'dangerous' fakes. You can keep them as an example of reproduction badges.

Hi Gil, I got taken in by the one that is in the left of the picture too. Luckly I only paid £10, this was back in 1985. I believe that they were made here in the UK by a well known faker named Tony Oliver. I gave mine away to a friend who thought it was "cool".
                            Cheers, Ade.

Sincere gratitude to learn this; Kyle, Erich and Adrian.

I had the one on the left up in auction last week and had mail that it was a fake, so I pulled it.

I'm not out anything, these belong to me sister, who's son collected them back before 1980. I've got boxes of German items to go through yet. Neither of us want to collect these, so if I don't destroy them what do I do with em? I certainly don't want to auction them and be known as a fake badge dealer.
