    Europeischer Jugendkongress Wien september 1942

    Dear gents.

I might obtain this badge, but i'm very uncertain about its value. The badge has full provenience. Anyone who could help me out regarding the value on this one?

      Wien Badge

      A H,
There were 2 tinnies listed for this date and place. Both have a fairly moderate value of $50 - $60 but being a tinnie collector I personally put the value at closer to $75 because of the late date.

Thanks Chris for your input regarding the value on this one. I thought it was somewhat higher but i have almost nada knowledge on these kind of items but it really doesn't matter since i know who the owner was and what position he had in Norway

For Torsten, here's a picture of the front. The badge has RZM numberings on the back, also with the producers name on it.

Do you know if theres been written something about this congress, in articles or whatever?

Thanks Chris for the pictures of your badges

The markings on the reverse is by the way identical on my badge. I know that several leading personalities of the Nasjonal Samling Youth organization went to this particular congress, and my badge belonged to one of these individuals.

I will talk to one of the former top-leaders of the Nasjonal Samling Youth organization on the purpose of this congress, and perhaps, if theres any interest on this subject in a historical context, "i'll be back"

That would be very cool to get info on these tinnies from the a person who was there, especially an important fiqure such as the person you know. I know that the money thing is extremely important to 99% of the people who are in this collecting field, but the history behind an item is invaluable. And Torsten, thanks as always. Its a pleasure to share what I`ve been lucky enough to collect over the years.

Dear Torsten and Chris. Thanks for your informative comments. They're really appreciated

And i agree that there's almost no substitute for the linking between an object and the original owner. I'm going to write a statusreport after my conversation with one of my friends on this congress, and hopefully we can share some information on this item.
