What is this WHW Wolf hook?

Does anyone know where this leather badge originates?

It has WHW and a 3 digit serial number(illegible)/36 inked on the reverse.

    thanks in advance

It's a street collection badge for the Nazi charity organisation.

Different ranges of badges were produced for different national collection days.

When you made a donation, you got a badge. It prevented you being stopped again in the street for more cash!

      ..

      Thanks Robin!

I put this up after seeing your Wolf Hook thread on the SS insignia section. I had always imagined it was Netherlands related but couldn't square away the WHW connection.

Did they use other emblems or runic symbols as well?

      Cheers

      Tom

This badge was first issued in late February 1936 so I would say that's what you are seeing on the reverse not a serial number and yes they did use many Teutonic related symbols in their donation pins.

The one I have is clearly marked 1935/36 WHW, i hope that helps. I really like the leather whw items somthing that is 70 plus years old and made of leather and still in such fine condition is just a cool collectible

                Thanks

                ....for this great research.

When i sold my tinnie collection (built from pocket money!) and moved into another area of collecting, this was one of the very few that i kept. Can't explain why, i've just always liked it.

Thanks again to all who responded
