Help with a small Shooting Pin (1936)

Anyone out there know anything about this item? I'm guessing that it relates to a shooting event for Master Shooters in 1936. Olympic shooting events were held in Germany in 1936, but I'm assuming that this item is not related to those events. In case the scan doesn't show well, the words are: "meisterschutze v deutschland zimmerst 1936" Any help would be appreciated.

quite unusual...the inscription would be spelled out as 'Meisterschuetze von Deutschland Zimmerstutzen 1936', basically German Champion Shooter 1936 for the discipline of Zimmerstutzen...Zimmerstutzen are Luftgewehre (air rifles) or any other types of rifles that can be used indoors and that do not use black powder to propell the projectile.

I would certainly be interested to see a pic of the reverse and also the dims of the badge. What material is it made from? Cheers, Torsten.

        Thanks for The Help

Thanks for the help (and the translation). I am doing a bit of research for a friend. This pin was received (as a birthday present) in the late 60's, during a time when my friend and his father were living in Germany (father was in the military). The man who gave him the pin was an elderly German gentleman who worked for the father. I don't know if the gift giver was the original recipient of this pin, but that seems likely. I have asked for a scan of the reverse side of this item, and will post it as soon as I receive it.

ask the owner (I assume that you do not have the badge? for the dimensions and the material and maybe also the weight to help us get a better feel for what it is like. Cheers, Torsten.

Zimmerstutzen are rifles with a long barrel were only the first centimeters are used (15 - 30cm). They uses only Flobert cardridges in 4mm calibres. Bullet, a round one made of lead (4.4 - 4.65 mm) loaded separeted or as complete Flobert cartridge what is a rimfire case without any powder.
The rimfire ignitor is the propellant, enough for 15m indoor.

ah well, I should have looked in wikipedia first I guess before making my comments...I just kind of think its more fun to use memory only.. anyhow, thank you very much Sven...never fully understood this Zimmerstutzen thing...but bottom line is that is what the badge is for and I certainly not seen it before and strangely enough could not find it on wikipedia either.... Cheers, Torsten.

Thanks to everyone for helping out with that champion shooter pin. I hope to have a photo of the reverse side - shortly. In the meantime, I could use a bit of help identifying a few (perhaps less interesting) items that I've had around the house for several decades. It would be nice, after all this time, to know what they were. This is the first photo....

I'm afraid that the plastic items have not stood the test of time very well.
                      This is the reverse view.
