the case of the fake HJ Sieger badges
i think Don's comments are very interesting,,,when i go and search the online auctions you can see certain auction houses offering groups of this badge in the same lot. The lots contain badges dated 1938 and 1939 but then also some odd dates like 1942 and they go for very low prices,,,,like under $100 for 3 badges,,,and they all fit Don's pics of questionable badges description as to the position of the top of the diamond vs the feathers on the eagle and the bottom protruding beyond the cog wheel,,,,and the bottom dot on top touches the inner ring....i dont think from what i have seen that these can be any doubt that these are signs of reproductions
