Looks like the sports vest insignia to me? I am not 100% sure if it is OK though without checking further.

    Cheers, Ade.

      Thanks Ade,
Isn't it a little too small? In inches it is about 2 inch high and 1,5 inch wide..

Not sure what it could be but on virtually every HJ diamond I have ever seen the lines around the swastika are in the form of a square whose sides are parallel to the edges of the swastika rather than a rhombus. Compare it to other HJ diamonds and the difference becomes obvious.

Very rare. I had never seen before. Obviously it is not a tipical sport vest insignia, and this rhombus around the swastika make me think in a fake. Any case just my opinion.

I believe the insignia to be a fake from the 70's,I bet if you put it under a black light it will glow enough to blind you.I think I have 1 of these in a junk box,if I can find it I will post pics.Jay Parisi

Hi Ray, now you have given the size, I withdraw my comments about it possibly being a sports vest insignia. It is too small.

As some of the other guys have also mentioned the shape is also odd. This was in my mind too, hence my initial reservations about originality as well without checking further.

              Cheers, Ade.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and comments. Luckily for me I can return it to the seller :-)

                Kind regards,

The one i sold on the E-stand is the same but it was in much better condition. It is a rather silky feeling material. I bought it a couple years ago at a military arms show in michigan. I can not tell you the origins of where it came from because i do not know. I have seen these pictured on the sleeve of a white shirt worn by HJ young girls ( they also wore a dark colored neckerchief). I am not an HJ insignia collector and sorry to sound so vague. If it turns out that there is a problem with the insignia i will make it right. thank you frank v. (vitts)

I have two of these. Under a black light they light up like the mid-day sun. I have been told they are fakes from the 1970s and I believe this to be true.

Being told fake and being a fake are two differant things. Can our HJ experts show any pics of these small emblems in wear ? And or complete shirts. Black lighting is only one source of identifying a none period item and only a guide and not absolute ultimate proof as we know. T

To me alot of work for such a low item piece? If silky to feel, then thats what we look for on sports emblems. The thickness of the silk etc. I agree Vitts is of better quality than the first one posted on this thread.

Chris can you post your two please... thanks.

Hi Guys, I strongly feel these are bad.

See Angolia Vol. 1 page 194. This lists the regulations and sizes, methods of wear etc.

Also bear in mind how the above one is made. All "Bevo" style insignia was cut down around the actual emblem, then the surplus cloth was folded underneath the insignia and then sewn onto the uniform. If this one was applied like I have described, it would mean cutting through all those black threads...

Frank I sent you a PM regarding some insignia you sold on the E Stand.

                          Cheers, Ade.

The silky feel is correct but the construction does not match any original woven insignia I have ever seen. Also, the design does not match any original HJ insignia I have ever seen. On the left, an original woven HJ emblem; on the right, these two fakes. I bought them as real but soon realized that no patch of this size seems to have been used during the Third Reich, from what I have been able to learn.

I would say that the original patch shown displays construction typical of TR woven patches.
