1923-1933 HJ Munchen Tinnie

Hello guys, I have been very interested in the 1923-1933 HJ Munchen tinnie as of late. I was wondering if anyone could give me any information that they might know about it. Also if you have any pictures of the variations of this tinnie like the different makers, hollow versions, and different metals used it would be greatly appreciated. Also I know know too much about the value, so I was wondering how much I should expect to pay for one of these?

Hi i have three different two in bronze and one in silber the one in silber is the most expensiv i belived the two others 70-85 eur regards tomas ps h wittmann is the manufactur on two of them

Mine is Bronze which is the most common. Wittmann was the major maker of these. They are a great badge with everything you could want on it. They are getting hard to find though.

Reverse. I have had this one quite a long while so I can't relay any realistic price information. I am sure if coming from overseas the price is going up daily as the US dollar is at a 20 month low vs. the Euro and Pound Sterling.

Here is the one that was on the estand yesterday. I hope he doesnt mind....It is just being used as a referense. Just wondering, are there any other examples other than these 2 ?

Ok, here is another example that I found on the internet. This one looks a bit odd to me and might be fake. The reverse doesnt have a makers mark and the finish looks a bit different than some of the other ones I have seen. I am no expert here so what do you guys think about this example? Should this be considered an original aswell?

Also if anyone has any examples of fakes please post them here also, just indicate that they are fake.

I do not think the example you have posted is a fake. This badge - which is a desireable piece and has indeed been copied - comes in both solid back quality construction and pressed metal hollow back form. They were priced to suit all pockets back then !!

(I have both examples in my collection and and happy with them both)

Mine is the solid version,i beleive the hollow back example to be the scarcer of the two.

I'll post mine tonight!

I just "inherited" a huge collection of tinnies/badges, and the solid backed version was one of the many early 1933 dated tinnies included. I did not notice the maker at first, but I'll bet it's Wittmann. I will try to photograph mine this evening and post it. I have lots of other great early tinnies to share on this forum as well!
