Budulai, This isn't saying your's is bad it could be the picture but the only one I can find in my reference books is a little different then yours where the eagle on your medal has a skinny neck while the one in the book shows the eagle with a fatter neck and the lettering on the reverse of yours isn't like the one in the book either. If you have Forman's Guide 1st edition on page 145 you'll see what I mean.Comment

I was looking at the same book, only 2nd edition
, thats why I posted the medal here. This is not mine, I was considering buying it, and I noticed differences from Forman's picture (I didnt notice the eagle's neck, thanks for pointing this out). So what do you guys think: is this junk or not? Is it worth getting?

Budulai, Another thing that's a little troubling is the ribbon. It's aged condition compared to the medal looks wrong to me. I would pass on it unless you can get it for little money.Comment

yeah, I can get it pretty cheap, but why? I would rather pay more money for a sure thing. The more we talk about it, the less I like it.

There's a big thread on this medal in General Wehrmacht Forum (do a search there for "1936 Olympics") with many large pix.
Medal looks OK to me, ribbon too, but somebody's slapped an American pinback on there.
They're not rare: pass for a complete one.Comment
