Interesting thread, I've always stae away from the Deutschland Erwache badges as I never made my mind up about. Recently, I had a purchase fail to arrive and the seller ( an ebay purchase ) sent me a couple of badges as compensation. One is a Deutschland Erwache.

Apolgies for the flash, the obverse looks okay in many respects but the reverse opens the much discussed ges gesch. + RZM question. Note it has the z slightly higher as seen in other exampes. Now the reverse looks pretty weathered, this coud easily be faked. But the pin assembly looks okay. I'm still unsure about these, but I've never been comfortabe with the whole RZM and Ges. Gesch together, but then there are credible arguments against this.

I am very confident in mine to be an original. I like these badges but they are becoming harder and harder to find.
