    ndsap party badges ?

    hi all
i have two of these badges one painted marked m1/102 rzm the other is enameled marked rzm ges gesch the thing is the enameled one i allways considered a fake due to the gap between the l-s but after looking on the party badge database i have seen quite a few with spread l-s that are considered good. what is the thoughts on these badges with the spread l-s as the back looks good with the rzm in a double circle no line through the z and the slightly longer m.would post pics but still sorting out membership

Your painted badge is spot on. As to the enamel badge is in that area of what is called a transitional badge most likely produced in early 1934 just when the RZM was coming into power. I feel it is most likely a good piece just from the pictures provided but to give it a more positive opinion I would need to see much better pictures of the front.

Ugh! Painted good - enamel bad.

Sorry - I don't like the enameled one. No beading under the red, odd pinplate, and lots of similar ones being sold on repro sites. It looks like the old WWII Inc. party pins ($3.50) with a slightly updated reverse.

                Hi,

I agree with Sjl on the enamel one. Like the painted one though.

Very nice painted party badge. I don't know what to think about the other one. It is different in size comparing to it's zinc -brother. Their could be varieties in size but so much? (besides the miniatures ofcourse, but this is not a miniature)

and i also noticed on the badge in the link the beading under the red and the actual finish of the enamel is identical to the enamel badge shown here and the back was that grubby as well until i commited the ultimate sin and cleaned it to see what it was like .unless of course this hitler badge is also a fake.

Personally I dont like the Hitler badge either. RZM and Ges. Gech really shouldnt be together but some people think its OK. The main thing with your party pin is the front, it is identical to a common M1/129 fake thats well known. Pre RZM badges just dont look like that, for me its a definate no Im afraid.

I don't like the Hitler badge on the other site either for another good reason. RZM markings started in early 1935. The RZM was established in 1934. So why is it on a "Adolf Hitler - 1933" badge?

I've believed that that reverse is bad - they all have the same characteristic short-sided "M" in the RZM logo.

Your party pin uses an odd font on the front. The fact that it was dirty is probably also a strike against it, as early badges were generally good quality metal that didn't tarnish easily, and excessive tarnish (especially grey residue) is often indicative of artificial aging.

Here is a better look at the front of the enamel badge in question as you can see there is stippling under the enamel.
