Scarf broach, possible Eva Braun.Help required with Eva pictures.

Now thats a statement ! I cannot confirm it belonged to Eva but I have my suspicions. It came in a lot including a French helmet and a couple other small French things from a clearance, as we know the French were first to Berchtesgaden ,just beating the Americans to some of the 'trophies' to be had. This is a piece of costume jewellery that is right up her street. The swastika is angled,as per 3rd Reich so I think we can safely rule out a 20's style good luck broach. It does not re-act to magnet and is very nicely detailed.
I have gone through my reference books and found a similar item ,but not exactly the same. Also in Mark Griffiths book on AH and Eva items[volume 2] he mentions that some of her Diamond pieces were broken up for the value and he shows 2 butterfly pieces that escaped that process as they were costum jewellery. So from that we know that eva did have some cotume jewellery, not all of it was diamonds and gold/silver etc.
I would like members opinions, but also of course the jem would be to find a picture with Eva wearing this piece, so please look out all your Eva pictures from books etc and lets see if we can nail this as hers.

...and the reverse, no visable makers mark but then there would not be on costume stuff I presume.

            I'll have a look Jon.

The thing is, even if the brooch could have been proved conclusively to come from the Berghof, there were lots of women there - secretaries, domestic staff, etc. etc.......to say nothing of wives and guests of the visitors.

And, of course, some of the SS also liked to wear the odd bit of jewellery when 'off duty'.

I can't imagine Eva wearing costume jewelry--at least, not after becoming friendly with AH. I would expect gold and genuine diamonds. It's not as though she had to shop at Woolworths, and if you know who gave it to her, it definitely would be jeweler made.
It looks to me like a piece of 1920s jewelry--could be continental but this sort of swastika themed item was also made in the US in the beginning of the 20th century.
Are you planning to wear it, Jon?

Erich, I think it would suit me actually,I might wear it on my tie next week
I only mentioned the costume jewellery part as thats what was in the Liberated AH book. I haven't got much in it so its not a risk,my wife likes it but of course would never wear it .

Seen very similar here in UK flea markets with a Birmingham maker mark. Im sure its not Nazi related, it looks too cheap really.
