SA sports day badge, but at US$300 surely far too expensive.... Cheers, Torsten.

i am sorry i did not meen to imply that this one is for sale at $300, but rather one that looked like it. the one that was for sale for $300 was similar to this but was mounted on a peice of cloth like a drivers badge. this pin came in a group of recently aquired items. i am trying to find out what it is and what kind of value it has. thank you frank v.

          SA Tinnie

This is a real nice SA Tinnie , very collectable to tinnie collectors, and also a fairly expensive one. I`ve seen them go for $75 to over $100.

yes, if you were wanting to sell it, then you might be able to sell for US$75, but I think you would struggle at US$100...Cheers, Torsten.

By the way, all of them that I've seen sewn to a wool backing have been fakes from eastern Europe. They're sewn to the fabric to hide the reverse and because they did not have pins mounted. They usually have artificial patina and aging applied.

Correct, these cloth mounted Tinnies are all fakes.

The one you show is 100% authentic.
