    SS, SA or NSDAP Tinnie?

This is a beautiful, heavy, solid and realtively large badge for a Gauappell in Saxony in 1936....but who issued it? Because of the sunwheel I thought it might have been the SS?? Has anyone else got one like this or has anyone seen it in a reference book? Cheers, Torsten.

          Torsten,
The Gau Appell would be a meeting for a geographic location--in this case, in Sachsen. While it would be mainly under the auspices of the NSDAP PL, all of the NSDAP organizations would likely have taken part--SA, SS, NSKK, NSBO, etc.
The Sunwheel swastika goes with the mock runic lettering--mainly a traditional style during the period.
          Erich
          Festina lente!
