    SS / SA Gorget

    Hi all, I used to have a few period pics of the gorget in wear, when I used to have several of the cigaretten photo albums. Can anybody out there provide for us a few pics of the gorget in wear? Perhaps some background as to when the SS actually wore the gorget with the burst. Thanks for any help...

    I'll start out with the particular gorget in question. I havn't studied these in some years, and it's amazing how much you forget. I do remember that there was a 1st and 2nd model. one with a rotated swas, and one with a static swas. Although I cannot remember which is which...

      Hello,
      I know there is the well known photo of Jacob Grimminger (mis-spelling) holder of the "Blood Flag". He wore one of those early gorgets.

      There is a photo of him wearing it in Volume 2 of For Fuehrer And Fatherland.
