thanks for your comments guys, i wish my cmaera was a bit more able to take close ups. the design of the olympic medals was actually the same from 1928 untill 1972. the only difference would have been the date and name on the front of the medals. the first medals to be awarded to be worn around the neck came in rome in 1960. always the same front and back though, until munich 1972 when they replaced the victorious athlete being carried on shoulders to two naked guys ,castor and pollux, the twins. (why they chose them, i have no clue) as for berlin medals, the cases for the gold werte orange suede, silver came in grey, and bronze came in a brown color suede case. all with the olympic bell stamped on the front, and the embossed name hj wilm, which was a prominant berlin jewelry company, i believe they made the field marshall batons later!
