i would say its ok and the diff lettering is down to a diff mold or mold update. my view only as it looks text book in every way to me. if they faking this now then the fakers are going foe more and more low value pieces to fake which to me dont make economic sense

I go with Chris, good one I think.

I remember having two of those and just like yours: one marker marked sharper than the other.
I kept the sharpest and traded the other, but I was convinced both were ok.

            Regards,
            Martin

I have several of these, but they are all by different makers than yours and two are unmarked once...they are all of different quality..some sharper than others and I would think yours is good one. Cheers, Torsten.

Oh yes even the humble Seefahrt tinnie has been faked, look at these fake Tinnies from the Soldat website

It means: Sea Travel Is Necessary. I don't think it had anything to do with any individual ship, just shipping in general.

Indeed as Ron said: it was an anually returning day (or two days) to honour the Marine branch.

Remember that Germany was very dependent on supply over sea those days.
On land they were surrounded by embargos.
So to encourage young men to serve as sailor with the commercial fleet and for fund raising these days were held.

A German diary was overwhelmed those days with days like these.
Most famous: Reichsparteitage, Tag der Machtübernahme, Heldengedenktag, Tag der Deutschen Wehrmacht.
Less famous: as mentioned Tag der Deutschen Seefahrt, Tag der Deutschen Post and even something like Tag der Deutschen Briefmarkensammler (stamp collectorsday).
And everything was celebrated with a truckload of tinnies, badges, flags, music and marches, shows, Briefmarken, speeches and fundraising.
All this mainly ofcourse to raise a socialistic awareness.

                              Mikael,

I collect exclusively the Seefahrt tinnie, and have many by different makers. I have two like yours, both by the same maker, but with a different back die. I say they are both period pieces. The tooling to the front is strongly the same, by F. Zimmermann.

Look, there are more than two dies here....look at the crimps.
