Hello to the forum,
I recently bought these WHW flowers and I am wondering if anyone can tell me what they are made of? It almost looks like some kind of synthetic material to my eyes, which makes me wonder if they could be fake. I know the designs are original, as I have seen identical ones made out of (what looked like) bakelite. But this material does not look like bakelite. The flowers have been cut and ground from this material (not moulded) and look to be hand painted with a single layer of paint. The clip attachment seems to go up inside the centre of the back, but I cannot see how it is attached.
If they are fake, it is a real worry that someone would go to all the expense to reproduce such a cheap item. I am told that the originals are still plentiful
and worth only a few Euro. This would not make very good economic sense, but I guess anything and everything is being faked these days. Nothing would surprise me.
I am interested in the opinions of other forum members.
Regards
Ian
