    Help with a few tinnies

    Hello folks,

I picked up this group of tinnies/pennant rig from one of my newspaper ads.

Most, if not all, are marked on their reverse.

The shield-shaped tinnies just below the triangulare railroad tinnies is marked 'WEST.-GERMAN., P enclosed in a circle, and 5.JAHRE."

Any thoughts with regard to identifying these would be appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Calvin--The tinnies that are on this flag have been shown in the WHW tinnie thread. The medal sheild ones are part of a WHW series on tinnies, the traffic ones, if marked West Germany, are copies of a WHW set issued pre 1945. The two pins with swastikas are part of a set of--what I call Rally day-- tinnies. The house one looks WHW as well and in my opion the best one of the lot. Not a gold mine of tinnies but still collectables anyway. The pennant is nice--WWI Imperial German I would think--odd that it is with the WWII era items--I would take them off the pennant and hope that the pin holes go away! Mike

The shields are from a WHW set of 7 depicting the style of shields used through the centuries. Offered on the 25th and 26th of October 1941. The odd shaped one is from the Westgermanische in the 5th C., (not west German), the other shield is Normannisch circa 1065. Both should have what they are on the back. It also looks as though the small coloured stone is missing from the centre.

The road signs, are from the Tag der Deutschen Polizei of the either the 28th and 29th of January 1939 or the 15th and 16th of February 1941. There were two different sets with only a couple being repeated.

The other two metal badges are from a set of 3 for Tag der Wehrmacht on the 28th and 29th of March 1942.

The plastic badge is from a set of 10, offered on the 17th and 18th of January 1942 by the KWHW in Gau Baden-Elsass.

            Two tinnies with swastikas...

...were a subject of this thread Tinnies and are from a set of three called "Heroische Embleme". You have them pictured upside down.

"Dolder Reichenweier" doesn't translate easily. A "Dolde" is a plant, or clustered flower, commonly known in English as an Umbel. "Reichen" means to "hand or pass something to someone" and is commonly used idiomatically.

I borrowed this photo from member "Kurasier84". Thanks, Christoph.
