    Luftschutz Collectors??

    Hello Everyone!

    I have just started to collect Luftschutz items and wondered if there were any other collectors out there?I was also wondering about the Luftschutz medal 1ST Class,i know there were only 150 of these awarded,but surely many more would have been manufactured?
    Also,which books are useful for Luftschutz items,as i have found no particular book that deals with this category exclusively.As i see it i'm going to have to spend a lot of money on reference books just for a small few page section,as i did yesterday with 'Belt Buckles & Brocades Of The Third Reich'!!
    Anyone who can help your input would be greatly appreciated!

    I always thought it would be neat to have some of these items as it was part of the whole experience of the Third Reich. I have a picture or two and a few things, I will try to post them sometime ASAP. Also they are relatively cheap as compared to other items.

      Not exactly Luftschutz - these ladies are part of a Fabrik or Werkstattschutz in Saarbrücken before the war. Date of the foto" 10.11.1938.

        And these gentlemen are part of the Sicherheits u. Hilfsdienst, this was a different organisation than the Luftschutz.

          Here is a foto of an SHD Oberzugführer, but he is wearing the Luftzchutz breast eagle. Can anyone explain this?

                    Hi All,
                    All of what I am posting came from one vets estate, except the dienstbuch. First is a warning poster tore down from a LS shelter. It says that theft of LS property is considered sabotage, and you can be punished.

                        Here's a pic of them in action. Look as they are filling a bomb crater. As you can see by the dienstbuch they were under the same command, you were either one or the other

                          Cooool pic! Look at the glass bombed out of all the windows. Check out the guy with the "evil eye" Great pic with a lot of character. One could write a novel around that vignette.
