    Could this be Oswald Mosely?

    Hello all,

Sniffing through boxes with items I could not even remember I had them, I found this interesting stickpin.
It came in a lot years ago and the seller was convinced it was an Hitler stickpin.
Yeah right, he was famous for wearing an English uniform, wasn’t he?

Years went by and I became I full grown, wiser and handsome man...

To the point: yesterday I refound this tinnie and had a lucid moment.
Could this be a BFP stickpin?
Better said: is this Oswald Mosely?

    Any BFP specialists around here?
Thanks in advance for your time.

    Best regards,
    Martin

don't recognise the uniform as anything British Fascist Related, but it might be Mosely...here is a pic of him in later years...

        Hi Torsten,

Thank you very much for your time!
So it could be a Mosely stickpin...

Two questions remain: how did it end up on a Dutch flea market?
Guess that question will never be answered.
Second question: why is he depicted in an English uniform?

If anyone has an explanation for that, I would love to hear that!!!

Torsten, once again thank you for your time and for showing those pictures!

        Best regards,
        Martin

With out knowing anything about the BFP, I would say that the uniform that is shown on the stick pin looks very Italien? Not English! But Im no expert

No, that is the problem with me too, I am far from an English expert.
But I thought that I recognised the red collar patch with the white stripe or sword and the khaki color as English.

I still hope someone jumps in who can indentify the stickpin!

                BFP was a good guess

BUF - British Union of Fascists 1932 up to 1940

BU - British Union toned down postwar version.
At Rathau on the Aller, the CO of 5th Royal Tanks advanced on foot to take a cautious look into the town before his tanks moved in. He encountered one of his own officers, a huge Welshman named John Gwilliam who later captained his country's rugby team, 'carrying a small German soldier by the scruff of his neck, not unlike a cat with a mouse.' The Colonel said: 'Why not shoot him?' Gwilliam replied in his mighty Welsh voice: 'Oh no, sir. Much too small.'

                  Yeah, right!
I had to use Wikipedia to find out who Jimmy Hill was...
I am probably the only Dutch who isn't a soccer adept so excuse my ignorance.
                  Nevertheless: a striking similarity!
Now what is he doing wearing a uniform?
I guess someone now jumps in saying football is a religious holy war?

Thank you all for your time.
                  I appreciate it.

                  Regards,
                  Martin

                        Hello Stephen,

                        Thanks for jumping in!

A nice guess, but I don't think so.

Compare the eye brows, the nose, the jaw line, position of the ear.
Less CSI talking: Alexander of Tunis seems a nice fellow.
The face on the stickpin looks evil, mean, vicious...
Or do I want him to be so...?

But thanks for the suggestion, I learn a lot of names this way.
                        Jimmy Hill, Alexander of Tunis...
Charly Chaplin crossed my mind also.

                        Anymore suggestions?

Actually, the name of the movement was British Union of Fascists, after 1936 it was widened to British Union of Fascists and National Socialists, but the unoficial version(British Union) was in use after that(it was much simpler).

                          Postwar 'version'how you call it,was 'Union Movement'(founded in 1948).

ps-the surname is MOSLEY,not Mosely, and that's definitely not him on that pin.

                          Cheers
