    PL leather color

According to the Org Books, PL boots were black, although the rest of the leather, belt, cross-strap and holster, were brown. Were there any variations to this? The reason I ask is that a dealer site has listed a pair of havanna brow PL boots. Is this an obvious error on their part?

    Hello Joe,
I would have sworn that the boots were havana brown, but I just checked a couple of references, and apparently they were black even from the early days. I suspect in the very early days brown boots may have been worn by PLs, but not after 33.

That's what I thought Eric. So the boots are probably SA or Gendarmerie.

Joe, Erics right, to a point, I have many early period pics showing PL leaders wearing these brown boots, but, yes the Org books show only black, which I am sure was the standard after 33-34ish. But, early pics show lots of brown boots in use, some later pics still show brown worn, but not as much as black. SA officers may have worn them, but SA seems to go towards a darker brown. Police wore the exact same color as these for Rural is it? I get the two backwards. These came from a PO leaders grouping, and he wore them, so thats how I listed them. But, anybody can wear them if need be. Its just a reference.
