    Need help with LORIENT tinnie

    I am cleaning out my drawers, this I am not at all sure of, I have a story to go with this badge, but more interested to find out what it is, and if it is real? If it is real, what is the value?

      The story from the vet is that he was in the group that bypassed Lorient, and when they went back to secure it once it was no longer hostile they found these. He said they were being made on the canning equipment. Like I said, not sure of the story and not sure if these even really existed?

        This is a copy. The originals are in thin brass sheet and pressed.

          The vet did say that the soldiers were making them for themselves on what they had to use. My be impossible to ever know if the story is true or not. but thank you for your opinion on it. He said that there were a few boxes of these and he grabbed one as a keepsake. Like I said, may never know if it is true or not.

            At least, I can say this is not the tipical fake. For me is more credible that the garrison used this kind of procedure (casting) to get the item than stamping or pressing. But, the experts always talk about the pressed one as original. Really I donĀ“t have any extra information about this.
