    NSDAP Membership Badge M9

Can anyone tell me if M9/72 is a valid RZM maker for the NSDAP badge?

Sir, I do not think so. How about an image of it. I personally have not heard of an M9 party badge. M9 is for tinnies and day badges. Robert

I've only seen M9 on "Westmark DVG" party-style badges, and I'm not sure even they are genuine. Like Robert said, M9 was for tinnies.

        New Picture Added

It is not real obvious from the picture, but the badge is nickle or some other silver colored metal. It is very concaved on the reverse. The Ges. Gesch. is raised while the RZM number and logo are stamped in.

There are things about this badge that just look wrong, like the placement of the pin. But then it has the appearance of an old pre-1935 badge that may have been updated for sale by adding RZM logo and number. I have had this badge since 1974 but never could positively be certain it was fake. Now that I have found this forum I hope I will learn once and for all.

The back side is not promising. Can you show the front....In focus.

I've got one of these in my junk drawer - bought it from WWII Products Inc. in 1976.

              Sorry, it's a bad fake.

Even without seeing the front of this badge I also have to say it's a bad one. The markings are all wrong as well as the placement of the attachment plate. Sorry

Adding a new picture of the front

I have updated the reverse picture which more clearly shows how the RZM stamp was applied after the casting of the badge. THis is evident because the M9/72 does slightly overstamp the Ges. Gesch. Also note the new picture of the front.

Thanks for taking the time to provide your input.
